Frequently Asked Questions

Does the CO value need to be adjusted after installation?

No, normally not.

All PLJ mass air flow sensors come factory-calibrated and work immediately after installation.

If your vehicle deviates from the stock condition, for example, due to a slightly different fuel pressure, these deviations can be compensated using the CO potentiometer of the PLJ mass air flow sensor.

Can I use a PLJ mass air flow sensor in a modified car, e.g., with a Race-Chip?

Yes, absolutely. The PLJ mass air flow sensor is even a great upgrade for many tuning modifications, such as performance camshafts, modified intake systems, and altered software ("Race-Chip"). These modifications are often limited by the high intake resistance of the stock air flow meter.

Since the PLJ mass air flow sensor outputs the same signal as the original air flow meter, all modifications that work with the original sensor will function properly.

Do PLJ mass air flow sensors work with oiled sports air filters?

Yes, as long as the air filter is properly oiled, a PLJ mass air flow sensor can be used without any concerns.

If too much oil is applied, it can accumulate on the hot film sensor and reduce its accuracy. Therefore, when using oiled fabric filters, make sure to apply the correct amount of oil according to the manufacturer's specifications. It is best to use air filters from well-established brands.

What are the noticeable effects after installation?

After installing the PLJ mass air flow sensor, the most noticeable improvements are significantly increased responsiveness and smoother engine operation.

Additionally, most vehicles will experience a noticeable increase in torque in the low and mid-RPM range.

Do I need to make any further modifications besides installing the PLJ mass air flow sensor?

No, the PLJ mass air flow sensor is a "plug-and-play" replacement part. You only need to replace the existing air flow meter with the PLJ mass air flow sensor and connect the 12V power supply using the included wiring adapter.

Modifications to the ECU, as required by some competitor products, are not necessary.
